It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, It’s not Christmas (yet) but it’s something that is just as exciting. It’s October! Although the official first day of fall was two weeks ago, October always marks the transition from the summer months to the fall. In the summer, there are so many activities and events that families can take part in. in October, while there are still events in activities to enjoy together as a family, some of the best activities involve just looking and being outside.
I’m sure that if you looked outside your window right now you would already start to see the changing colours of the leaves on trees. Red, yellow, and orange leaves altogether making a beautiful canvas. If you continue to look outside, you might see some squirrels gathering their nuts as they prepare for winter and the snow that will eventually cover the ground. You may also see some geese begin gathering and practicing for their flight down south.
Not only does October bring pleasant scenery, but it also brings holidays and traditions. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and with that, it brings delicious food, traditions, and the embracing of various cultures across multiple family generations. Another holiday that many look forward to in October is Halloween, a chance to dress up as one’s favorite character, put on some fun makeup, all while receiving free candy (Who doesn’t love free candy?!).
