30 Toronto Restaurants Crack Eggs to Curb Child Hunger as Part of Burnbrae Farms and TasteToronto’s Dine With Eggs Culinary Collective

Toronto, Ontario – August 31, 2021: Burnbrae Farms — a Canadian family-owned and operated egg producer — and TasteToronto are teaming up with 30 of Toronto’s most famed restaurants, including Aloette, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen and Gusto 501, for a new six-week Dine with Eggs culinary experience.

Kicking off on September 1st and running through October 15th, patrons at participating eateries can sip on egg white cocktails and indulge in mouth-watering dishes created with Burnbrae Farms’ eggs to support The Children’s Breakfast Clubs.

For every plate or cocktail purchased during the dining collective, Burnbrae Farms will donate one breakfast omelette to The Children’s Breakfast Clubs — an organization committed to feeding children from some of the GTA’s most disadvantaged and marginalized communities — so they can start each day with a hot, healthy breakfast.

“Even pre-pandemic, one in 10 households in Toronto were food insecure, meaning many children were going to school on an empty stomach,” said Rick Gosling, President and Founder of The Children’s Breakfast Clubs. “Starting the day with a balanced, nutrition-packed and culturally appropriate breakfast is critical for physical and cognitive development, and we are incredibly grateful to Burnbrae Farms and TasteToronto for making it possible for us to deliver even more breakfasts to children who need it most in our communities.”

Burnbrae Farms, voted Canada’s most trusted egg brand by BrandSpark two years in a row, has a long history of working with The Children’s Breakfast Clubs and other community organizations to help nourish those in need with eggs and egg products. In 2020 alone, Burnbrae Farms donated 3.6 million eggs, one of nature’s most nutritious foods, to 3,000 Canadian communities in need.

“Providing nutritious food for communities in need is a core part of what we do here at Burnbrae Farms. Eggs and egg products are an excellent source of high-quality protein and provide 13 essential vitamins and minerals,” said Margaret Hudson, President and CEO of Burnbrae Farms. “By teaming up with TasteToronto, we have been able to bring to life the creative side of making fun food and drinks with our eggs, while also helping us to expand our egg donations to stop children from going without the most important meal of the day.  We are very excited about and proud of this initiative!”
