Youth Can Make a Difference Event

In honour of Black History Month, The Children’s Breakfast Clubs hosts the “Youth Can Make a Difference” event at a selected school in the Greater Toronto Area. This inspiring afternoon brings together students, educators, and community leaders to focus on leadership, perseverance, and the power of young people to shape their communities.

Through dynamic speaker panels and engaging discussions, students hear powerful stories about overcoming challenges and pursuing excellence. The program encourages students to reflect on their own potential and discover how they can make a positive impact in their schools and communities.

Annual Trip to Ottawa

Each year, The Children’s Breakfast Clubs, in partnership with VIA Rail and ATU 113, transports 200 students to Ottawa for a powerful Black History Month experience. This initiative focuses on youth leadership and representation, providing students the opportunity to tour Parliament Hill and participate in civic engagement activities.

For many students, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Canada’s democratic institutions firsthand. By engaging with distinguished politicians and inspiring role models, students learn the importance of having a seat at the table and using their voices to impact their communities.
