We are excited to share that our Thanksgiving Food Hamper Giveaway on Saturday, October 12, 2024, was a huge success! Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we prepared and distributed 1,000 food hampers and 102 frozen turkeys, ensuring our families receive wholesome, nourishing meals during this important time of year.

The day began bright and early at the Ontario Food Terminal, where over 90 dedicated volunteers gathered, full of energy and enthusiasm. Together, they packed fresh fruits and vegetables into hampers, each one filled with care and intention. It was truly inspiring to see people working side by side, united by a common purpose to make a difference.

In the afternoon, we moved to Yorkgate Mall, where families eagerly lined up to collect their hampers. Witnessing the smiles on the faces of parents and children alike was truly heartwarming. For many of these families, receiving a food hamper means so much more than just food; it’s a reminder that they are supported by a caring community, especially during a time that can be challenging financially.

This year, the need felt especially urgent. With rising living costs, many families are struggling to put food on the table. By providing these hampers, we hope to lighten some of that burden, allowing families to focus on what truly matters—spending time together and giving thanks.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our amazing volunteers, partners, and sponsors who made this event possible.  It was truly inspiring to witness individuals from all walks of life come together in the spirit of giving and community.

A special thanks to our partners and sponsors, Steven Moffat of North American Produce Buyers, The Ontario Food Terminal, Michael Abramson of Six Cob, Stephen Procter of Procters Cartage Ltd, Tim Hortons, Toronto Police Service, Peel Police, American Express, Roche Canada, Humber College, and Yorkgate Mall. Your dedication and generosity played a crucial role in ensuring this initiative ran smoothly and reached those who needed it most.

Stay tuned for more updates and future events! We look forward to continuing our mission to support children and families in our community. Here’s to a season of gratitude, love, and connection!
