On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, over 1,200 children from marginalized communities across the Greater Toronto Area gathered at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex for our Annual Caring and Sharing Christmas Gala! This heartwarming event, supported by Spin Master Corp. and Liberty Entertainment Group, was a day of joy, giving, and community spirit that these children will carry in their hearts for years to come.
The gala, which took place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, transformed the iconic Liberty Grand into a festive wonderland, where children, along with their educators and over 300 volunteers, were welcomed into a warm and joyful atmosphere. The day was filled with holiday music, exciting activities, and a delicious sit-down meal served in a grand ballroom—a first for many of the children attending.
One of the highlights of the event was the gift-giving tradition. Each child not only received a gift but was also invited to select a gift to give to a peer, fostering the spirit of kindness, generosity, and community that the holiday season embodies. The gala was graced by special guests from various sectors, including the Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Deputy Chief Robert Johnson of the Toronto Police Service, Interim Toronto Fire Chief Larry Cocco, and Senior Members of Toronto Paramedic Services. Community leaders, along with dignitaries from across Toronto, came together to celebrate the spirit of generosity and kindness that defines this event.
The day’s entertainment featured live performances that added to the festive mood. The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada Band, Chief’s Ceremonial Unit, Honour Guards, Bagpipers, and the Humber College Band kept the children entertained with their lively performances, making this Christmas celebration even more magical.
