Ride the Track 2026: Pedalling for a Purpose and Making History
On Friday, August 14, 2026, hundreds of students, cyclists, volunteers, dignitaries and community supporters came together at the Markham Indy for Ride the Track 2026 in support of The Children’s Breakfast Clubs (TCBC).
We are incredibly grateful to the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham, Green Savoree Toronto ULC, and the City of Markham for helping make this special event possible.
The evening began with our Opening Ceremonies at the Markham Pan Am Centre, where we celebrated 250 students who completed TCBC’s Healthy Lifestyle & Bike Program. We were honoured to welcome Mayor Frank Scarpitti, MP Michael Ma, Canadian National Team cyclists Emy Savard, Cole Dempster and Teigen Pascual, as well as leaders from Toronto Police Service, York Regional Police, Peel Regional Police, Markham Fire and Emergency Services, York Region Paramedic Services, and various other dignitaries.
Our special guests shared inspiring remarks and helped us recognize the students, volunteers and community partners who make this program possible. We also presented the George Terry Cup to the winning Student Bike Team, Toronto Police Service 51 Division – congratulations on your hard work, dedication and commitment to our Healthy Lifestyle & Bike Program!
We Made History!
Although unforeseen Markham Indy track delays meant we started later than planned, we were thrilled to see more than 200 riders take the very first lap of the track – before the race cars hit the pavement!
It was an unforgettable moment filled with excitement, smiles and community spirit.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers, who remained patient, positive and helpful throughout the evening. We truly could not have done it without you!
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who registered and supported Ride the Track. Every $25 registration fee goes directly toward TCBC’s breakfast programs and helps provide nutritious meals to children across Southern Ontario.
Thank you for helping us pedal for a purpose and make history!
