Black History Month Ottawa Trip

This week, on February 24th, The Children’s Breakfast Clubs with the generous partnership of VIA Rail, brought 185 students and educators to Ottawa in celebration of Black History Month. It was an unforgettable day filled with learning and meaningful engagement at Parliament.

We do this work because representation and opportunity matter. When students walk into spaces of leadership and decision-making, it broadens what they believe is possible for their own futures.

We’re especially proud to highlight Suren Kunasegar, a former Breakfast Club student from Stanley Public School who joined our Ottawa trip in 2013 as a Grade 5 student.

Today, he serves as an Executive Assistant with the Ministry of Public Safety, a powerful example of why we do what we do. Our students deserve to see themselves in roles of leadership and influence.

We wanted to share both of these incredible moments with you. Thank you for your continued support and belief in our youth.
