1,500 Hampers Packed and Delivered Across the GTA

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, The Children’s Breakfast Clubs brought the community together at the Ontario Food Terminal for a morning of service, spirit, and Thanksgiving cheer. With over 100 volunteers lending their hands and hearts, we packed and delivered 1,500 healthy food hampers, totaling more than 50,000 pounds of food, to families across the Greater Toronto Area, making this our largest Thanksgiving initiative yet..

We packed 1,500 food hampers, totaling more than 50,000 pounds of food, all fresh, nutritious, and ready to make a difference on Thanksgiving tables across the city.

This year’s theme, “Youth Can Make a Difference,” highlighted the passion and power of young people to lead positive change. Teenagers and young adults worked side-by-side with parents, longtime supporters, and local celebrities, showing that service knows no age limit.

The morning wasn’t just about hard work, it was also filled with fun and friendly competition. Volunteers competed in the Food Packing Cup, a light-hearted challenge overseen by the Toronto Police Service. Playful “tickets” were handed out for chatting too much or slowing the line, keeping the atmosphere joyful and energized.

This incredible effort was made possible thanks to our dedicated volunteers and generous community partners, including North American Produce Buyers, the Ontario Produce Marketing Association (OPMA), Proctor’s Cartage, and Tim Hortons. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time, energy, and heart to make this day a success, your support helped bring Thanksgiving joy to hundreds of families across the GTA.

We were also honoured to welcome Chief Bikram Chawla of Toronto Paramedic Services, and Toronto Police Services whose teams joined in the packing fun and shared in the community spirit.

“This event wasn’t just about giving food,” said Richard Gosling, President of The Children’s Breakfast Clubs. “It was about teaching service, teamwork, and community spirit, and showing kids that they can make a real difference.”

For many families, these hampers made the difference between a sparse table and a warm, joyful Thanksgiving meal. We’re proud to continue our mission of supporting children and families with compassion, dignity, and hope.
