In Ontario, Canada, a remarkable initiative is underway to support the growth and development of tender minds: The Children’s Breakfast Club. This dedicated NGO ensures that children have access to nutritious breakfasts at school, setting them up for success in the classroom and beyond. And the best part? They need your help to keep this important work going!
Why Volunteer?
Think about it: when you help out, you’re not just giving your time. You’re making a big difference in these kids’ lives. Your smile, your kindness—those things matter. Volunteering isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to be part of something awesome, which in turn touches the lives of these young kids who will eventually be tomorrow’s future.
Building Connections
When you volunteer, it’s not just about food. It’s about making connections with these kids. You become someone they can look up to, someone who cares. And that’s huge! Your kindness can brighten their day and maybe even change their life.
Spreading Goodness
Volunteering is about the whole community. When you pitch in, you’re showing everyone that we’re stronger together. You’re spreading goodness and making the world a better place, one breakfast at a time.

Rick Gosling the founder of TCBC
In 1984, Rick Gosling, drawing on his background in social work and theology, founded The Children’s Breakfast Club in Toronto. The goal was to provide a nurturing environment where children could have a healthy breakfast, offering a safe space for parents to leave their kids while they worked.
Rick’s source of motivation was the kid who sat down and ate 26 pancakes on the first opening day of the club, and from then on there was no looking back and now TCBC proudly embraces 35 communities. His mission was and is to ensure that no kid goes to school hungry.
Making a Difference, One Meal at a Time
Every breakfast served, every smile shared—it all adds up. Your efforts may seem small, but together, they have a big impact. By volunteering with The Children’s Breakfast Club, you’re helping to create a brighter, healthier future for children in your community.
The Impact of Volunteering
Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time; it’s about making a real impact. By joining forces with The Children’s Breakfast Club, you become part of something bigger than yourself. Your presence, your energy, and your dedication all contribute to creating positive change in the lives of these children. Your actions as a volunteer don’t just benefit the children you serve—they create a positive effect that touches the entire community. When kids receive a nutritious breakfast and see the kindness of volunteers, they’re inspired to pay it forward in their own lives. This cycle of generosity and compassion strengthens the bonds of community and builds a brighter future for everyone.
Empowering Future Leaders
Through your volunteer work with The Children’s Breakfast Club, you’re not just providing meals; you’re empowering future leaders. By showing these kids that they are valued and supported, you’re giving them the confidence and resilience they need to succeed. Whether it’s helping offering words of encouragement, or simply being a positive role model, your impact extends far beyond the breakfast table.
In a world where every child deserves a chance to thrive, volunteering with The Children’s Breakfast Club is a tangible way to make a difference. So, lace up your sneakers, grab a spatula, and join us in fueling the futures of children across Ontario. Together, we can create a world where every child starts their day with a nutritious meal and a bright smile. Let’s make it happen!
