Our Breakfast Club at Ashton Meadows Public School was established in 2018 to better serve the children and families in the Markham community. On average, 60 students attend our breakfast program each morning and enjoy a hot, nutritious meal. Last year, over 15,000 meals were served!

Our Ashton Meadows Club Leader Michelle Gayle does a fantastic job managing the program and ensures it runs seamlessly. She is also a professional caterer and loves creating healthy and tasty meals for her students to try! Michelle is passionate about helping others and visits Jamaica every year to support a school in a local village.

Michelle has witnessed firsthand how the breakfast program can have a positive impact on a child’s life. Her daughter Princess attended our program when she was 8 years old and is now on her way to university! Princess has grown into a smart and courteous young woman who regularly volunteers and gives back to her community.

Michelle’s favourite thing about The Children’s Breakfast Clubs is seeing the children well-fed, happy and safe every morning! She teachers her students about healthy eating habits and encourages them to be kind and respectful. Her students understand the importance of helping each other and often volunteer to set up and tidy up the breakfast meals!

In addition to our amazing Club Leader, our Ashton Meadows Breakfast Club is highly successful thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our fantastic team members including the Principal, Vice Principal, staff and volunteers. Caroline Simonain (also known as Ms. S), is a teacher at Ashton Meadows and regularly volunteers at the breakfast program. She also brings in youth volunteers to help out and mentor the students! Catherine A. LePichouron from American Express, is another devoted volunteer who drops by every Friday to spend time with the students and assist the team. We are thankful to all of our educators, staff and volunteers for investing their time, skills and hearts in support of The Children’s Breakfast Clubs!
