On Monday, November 27th 2017, the Children’s Breakfast Clubs hosted our annual Caring & Sharing” Children’s Christmas Gala at The Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex here in Toronto.

Busses of children began to roll up to The Liberty Grand at 9:00 am. 1200 children rushed through the front doors to be greeted by members of The Toronto Police, Fire and Ambulance Services and of course Mr. & Mrs. Clause.

The children were then escorted into the entrance of the Grand Toy Room, a beautiful design built by the Carpenters Union Local. The look on the children’s faces were priceless as they were surrounded by 4000 toys generously donated by Spin Master Canada; The room was filled with all of the hottest toys of the season. Each child in attendance got the opportunity to choose a brand new toy to keep for themselves, and one to give away to someone else this holiday season. After all, the theme of the day was “Caring & Sharing.”

The next stop for the children was the games room. The high-energy room was filled with bright Christmas lights and several fun stations ranging from toy-focused games by Spin Master Canada, face painting,  henna ladies,  a make-your-own ornament station, a bouncy castle, and of course the amazing DJ’s The Magen Boys and their dance team performing on stage.

After about an hour and a half of play, all 1200 children walked through a tunnel of volunteers cheering and clapping for them as they entered the Liberty Grand Dining Room. The room looked like a magical Christmas miracle – there were red and green table clothes, candelabras and Christmas décor. Dwight Drummond, who was our Master of Ceremonies for the day, ensured all children stayed in their seats and stayed quiet as the Toronto Police Services Honour Guard Piped in our biggest supporters followed by our Guest of Honour, The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.

What an honour it was to have the Prime Minister of Canada join us on this special day. He entered the room with smiles and handshakes for all the children at an arm’s length and went up to the podium to say a few words. Prime Minister Trudeau’s speech reiterated the importance of the theme of the day which was Caring & Sharing. He reminded us that as long as we have each other, we will be alright.

In the photo above you’ll see our President and Founder, Rick Gosling, presenting Prime Minister Trudeau with an official Children’s Breakfast Clubs apron signed by all groups of children in attendance.

Overall the day was an amazing experience for all children and adults involved. We thank all of our supporters immensely for allowing this special day to happen for the children – leaving them all smiling from ear to ear.
