Clubs and 110 children from schools and community organizations gathered at Humber College North Campus for a bike safety and injury prevention training day. The primary goals of the safety day were to promote a healthy lifestyle through good nutrition and exercise and to teach the children the safety rules of the road. A series of workshops were provided by a number of community stakeholders on first aid, safety, and preventative injuries. The event was supported by Toronto Police officers, including those in the bicycle and motorcycle units, who helped the children understand road safety rules, assisted them as they completed the obstacle course of the bike rodeo, and conducted supervised road tests. The Children’s Breakfast Clubs provide nutritious, appetizing, culturally reflective breakfasts every morning to thousands of children across the GTA. For more information, visit breakfastclubs.ca
